Unlock the Secrets of a Natural, Efficient Porcelain Tile Cleaner for Sparkling Results
Making your own natural porcelain tile cleaner is easy and uses only ingredients found in your home. While vinegar is a very effective natural cleaner, it can damage certain types of stone such as marble and granite, so avoid use of it around such materials.
To start, pour two gallons of warm water into a bucket and add ΒΌ cup of white vinegar. Mix the water and vinegar solution thoroughly until it is fully combined and the vinegar is dissolved. This will create a basic antibacterial and deodorizing solution that can be used on porcelain tile floors.
To incorporate a degreasing solution, add one large squirt of liquid detergent to the warm water and mix it until the water is soapy. If there is a particularly greasy spot or area with trapped dirt, apply the degreaser with a cleaning cloth before using the vinegar and water solution.
Once the degreaser has been used and the area has been rinsed with clean water, pour the vinegar and water solution directly onto the tile. Use a mop to spread the solution over the floor and allow the cleaner to sit on the floor for at least five minutes. This will allow the cleaner to really set in, which will provide a deeper clean.
Using a rag, scrub the floor in circles to remove dirt, grime and any other residue. Rinse the area with clean water and then dry it with a dry cloth. It is important to dry the tile thoroughly as this will help to avoid streaks and residue.
Once the tile is clean, use a mop or a wet/dry vacuum to remove any leftover cleaning solution or water. Make sure to empty the bucket when you’re done.
You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the mixture in order to add an extra pleasant scent while cleaning. This is a completely optional step, however, so feel free to leave it out if you’d prefer a more natural scent.
With this recipe, you can easily create an all-natural porcelain tile cleaner that will leave your floors sparkling and smelling lovely. It is a relatively simple process that only requires a few ingredients and some elbow grease for a deep clean of your home.
