Learn How to Easily and Quickly Install Bamboo Fence Panels for Your Yard or Garden
Installing a bamboo fence is a great way to add more privacy to your home, and it’s surprisingly easy to do! To begin, you’ll need to measure the entire area where you plan on installing the fence and make sure to account for a clearance between the panels and the ground. Make sure to purchase posts that are 4×4 inches in diameter and taller than the fence panels. You’ll also need to purchase bamboo fence panels, stringers and nails.
The standard bamboo fencing panels are made of bamboo poles arranged in a vertical line and held together with rust-proof galvanized wire. This type of fencing is known to withstand up to 20 years when taken care of properly. Once you’ve purchased the necessary materials, it’s time to start the installation. Begin by planting a post at one end to act as the fence’s end post. Make sure the post is secure in the ground and that the top of the post is level with the top of the panel so there’s several inches between the bottom of the panel and the ground.
Next, you’ll need to measure out the width of one single panel to know where to place the second post. Continue in this manner until all the posts are placed. This is also the time to add A-frame ladders if necessary. When all the posts are secure, it’s time to start fitting the panels. Ask someone to help you lift the panels into place and make sure to check that the bottom of the panels are at least several inches away from the ground.
Once you are satisfied with the panel’s position, start securing the panels to the posts using stringers and nails. Start with the top stringer and work your way down. Hammer a nail through the stringer and into the post and make sure it’s secure. Continue in this manner until all the panels are attached. Don’t forget to use galvanized wire to connect each panel and post for added security.
After all the steps are completed, your bamboo fence is ready to be used. You’ll want to keep up maintenance on your bamboo fence to guarantee a longer lifespan. Cleaning it regularly will take away any dust and dirt, and you can also add a sealant to prevent water and mold damage. With proper maintenance and regular cleaning, your bamboo fence will be sure to last for many years to come.
